A Trip to Fiji

Fiji, a beautiful country located in the South Pacific. 333 islands.

Approximately 896,444 people. White warm sandy beaches. Blue

turquoise tranquil waters. Beautiful coral reefs. Exotic marine life.
Lovely people. Known as a popular tourist destination, Fiji is the
10th most beautiful country in the world. It makes sense.

As soon as you enter the airport of Nadi in Fiji, you receive a warm
welcome to the sound of songs played on the guitar or ukulele by
happy smiling Fijians. For anyone that had an uneasy flight, listening
to their tunes will certainly light up your day.

We went on a guided tour of a village called Savusavu. Known as
Fiji’s best hidden paradise, we were able to ride through the river
channel in high speed boats. The surroundings were truly paradise.
Fresh green mountains surrounded us as we explored the village.
We got off the boat and walked for about a few hundred meters
until we saw civilization. People looked at us amazed to see tourists.
Children were excited and curious.

We were invited into the chief’s hut. The other tourists with us sat
down as we introduced ourselves. We also drank ‘Kava’, an extract
from the Kava plant. The meaning of ‘kava’ meant ‘bitter’. It was
quite bitter, but I kept on drinking to not disappoint these lovely
people. They even gave us some to take home.
