Ms. Anieshka Dinushika

The position of deputy head of secondary must be
demanding, what drives to come in everyday and give
your all?
Ms Anieshka: Well indeed it is a demanding post and demanding
role in CIS, saying that CIS is a very happening school. One thing
or another is there everyday: an exam, a sporting event, a
meeting with parents, or something comes up. So CIS is a place
that I have, you know its like my second home. I really love this
play and I want everything in school to happen perfectly so I
have always felt that it is my responsibility that the secondary
section runs smoothly so that drives me here everday.
What initially drew you to teaching before you embarked
on your lengthy career?
Ms Anieshka: Well teaching was my passion from a small age so
when as an IT student you had different areas that you could pick
on. I could have been a software engineer, a database
administrator but teaching has been my passion so I thought to
fulfill the desire of my career, I want to be a teacher and then
ended up here.
What are the fondest memories of CIS that you’ll carry for
the rest of your life even after
you leave?
Ms.Anieshka :Students, several happy moments with students. I
have been head of year 11, those certain batches, so the last batch
that I was head of year 11 is the current year 13s. So that’s a batch
that I really really remember; their mischief, their achievements,
their day to day form periods and all those things. I have lots of
good memories with my year 11s. I have lots of good memories
with my ICT students. Starting from the digital art competition
that we had earlier, so kids achieving from that, working towards it
and we working late hours to prepare for that, those were fond
memories. And also the school anniversary, you know when I was a
class teacher, I started as a year 9 class teacher, then I moved to
year 10, 11 and then I became the head of year 11. So as a class
teacher, preparing the students for the anniversary stall, earning
highest in the year group, was like along with my students, I too
enjoyed those various small small events.
