The Chosen One

SCENE 1
There was a girl named Tanya who lived in southern China, who seemed to be around 15
years old, with brown hair and green eyes.

She was getting ready for school as usual, for which she normally felt happy and excited
to learn. Today she felt kind of drowsy and not willing to go to school. She thought to
herself that this was really weird. She didn't take this into mind that much, so she just
went on with her day and went to brush her teeth in the bathroom.

She washed her face. While her eyes were half open, through the mirror, she saw a figure
behind her. It was a man in a monk suit just smiling, only smiling. She gasped.

SCENE 2
Tanya walked to school. It was only a 2 km walk so she didn’t mind getting the exercise.
She continued feeling drowsy. It was a gloomy and sad day today. She came into the
classroom as usual and greeted all her friends. Nothing happened until the 5th period. At
around 12 O’ clock, the girl heard some voices in her head. No, they were kind of
whispers. There were multiple voices in all directions saying different things. It was
difficult to hear, the only thing Tanya was able to get out was “Come, come join us.”
THEN she heard an extremely high-pitched sound which was extremely intolerable. She
felt as if her ears were bleeding and were about to explode. She let out a yell, a loud one. It
was so disruptive that even the classes on the other floors could hear it. The voices in her
head disappeared. She felt embarrassed, her face was red. She knew that something was
wrong with her.

SCENE 3
At home, she searched up her symptoms on the Internet, even though she knew that's the
last thing someone should do. She found various websites, but she saw one which caught
her eye. At the end of the website there was a phone number listed, which claimed to be of
great help and that it was necessary to meet them before the person's symptoms start to
get worse. Tanya called the number, a man had answered, a man with a deep raspy voice.
He sounded very shady and sketchy. After a long conversation, the man said to Tanya that
they should meet up, and she suddenly got worried. She knew that she should never ever
meet up with a stranger online under any circumstance. But, at the same time she
wanted to get rid of her symptoms as fast as possible. After the phone call for a while, she
was very reluctant to go. One minute she thought yes and one minute she thought that
she should not go. He told her to meet him at the Nan Ging alley.
