But Without the Dark,
   We'd Never See the Stars

Pain. noun
-highly unpleasant physical sensation caused by illness or injury.

A feeling felt when you’re sick, heartbroken or just stuck on
trigonometry.
A message transmitted to the brain by nociceptors.

But it’s so much more than that.

Think of the last time you were really sick. You probably had to have a
cannula shoved into you, maybe had to drink something unpleasant or
get a couple blood tests done; just to feel better again, right?

A few seconds of discomfort for a lifetime of good health.

What about the time you had to do something you didn’t want to do?
Maybe you had to clean your room or study for a test you were
dreading.

Now think of all the times before and after these moments. You
recovered, and could go to that party the following week, you and your
loved ones who’ve passed made a countless number of beautiful,
wonderful memories together and you probably got an A* for all your
effort or a PS5 as a reward.

Life is about the rainbow after the rain, the greater the obstacle, the
more glory in jumping over it. So the next time you’re not 100% or you’re
tired or fed up, think about the medals, the proud faces of your parents
or just never having to see the barren hospital walls again.

After all, the happiness of your life depends on the quality of your
thoughts.
